GuestView Guide is a wall-mounted digital signage solution that allows vacation property companies to deliver property-related information directly to their guests. GuestView Guide consists of hi-resolution touchscreen signage and a cloud-based content management dashboard for managing content.
Sharp NEC Display Solutions launched the GuestView Guide in the summer of 2019. Since then, the product has gained traction among luxury vacation rental companies and leading vacation rental professionals.
The project was started by the Global Innovation and Solutions team of Sharp NEC in Silicon Valley, with close collaboration from property management clients and leading industry advisors. Since its release, we have delivered multiple features that enhance the value of the signage, including direct service booking, rebooking, and custom advertisements.

With the help of signage solutions, property managers can upload videos or simple instructions of the most commonly asked-about household items, making it easier for guests to use them without any hassle.

Reviews are very critical for the vacation rental business. The signage solutions allow vacation rental hosts or managers to elevate guest experiences through curated lists of local recommendations and to-dos so guests can make the most out of their stays.

The GIS team worked closely with particular partner property management companies to define and prioritize product roadmap. Below is the design work addressing the value propositions and improving the experience of its content management.
Revenue-generating Service Platform
Property management companies and hosts are always looking for ways to generate extra revenue. For GuestView Guide subscribers, this extra revenue could offset the monthly fee and create more opportunities for increasing the earnings from the guest stay. We interviewed property managers to understand high-demand services better. We also evaluated other services to identify key design factors. As part of our design goals, we also aimed to enable property managers to collect payments directly. To ensure privacy and security for those who ordered the services, we opted for mobile payment since the signage was accessible to all guests.
Slideshow Advertisement
The feature aimed to enhance the appeal of the digital concierge's revenue-generating services platform. The slideshow mode was found to be useful for promotion, as property managers were able to include their custom advertisements in their slideshow, which increased the chance of exposing advertising to vacation rental guests. Since its release, property managers have found clever ways to utilize the advertisements on the concierge, making this feature very popular.
Home Screen & Onboarding Dashboard
As part of our efforts to enhance the design of GuestView Guide CMS, we reviewed the cloud-based CMS. Our goal was to determine how the CMS could help our clients set up and optimize their content for their digital concierges. We focused on the following areas during this assessment:

Efficiency of completing and optimizing the content
